The Material Through Sculpture workshop is intended to take the student on a journey of exploration of material in the broadest sense.
The workshop is run by studio tutor Anne Gorman in collaboration with Adrian Duncan an Irish artist who has studied contemporary art theory at NCAD. Adrian also has an engineering background. This year the workshop includes a guest lecture From Carl Burke and contributions from Marta Fernandez Calvo

3D to 2D - BBQ Skewers
The barbeque skewers' solidity encouraged me to make something structural first. I then tried to reduce them to there elementary state, sawdust perhaps. I then tried to prove that something 3D in nature could be reduced to something planar and 2D.
